@sns1 - From the screenshot it looks like the websiteUrl in StaticTabs does bot match the valid regular expression pattern. You have added an extra t in https.

Your URL starts with htttps but it should be https. Could you please correct the URL and hope this helps.

Thanks,
Meghana

Please update the version and then try uploading manifest again or please try uploading the manifest from Apps-->Upload a custom app-->Upload to org. Hope this solves your issue.

Hi Meghana,

Thank you for the response. Please clarify my below questions:

  1. so you are suggesting to upload from teams app itself instead of teams admin centre ( manage apps)? I tried to do that it is giving error like app parsing failed. so here also it did not work

  2. I tried to generating app package multiple times and upload freshly most of the time it worked, however few times it is giving error as above ( little different this time) PFA. I understood if we give something wrong in the input while executing the Viva script , app package will not be uploaded and throws error shown in my first thread, am I correct?

  3. If that is the case can u give me guide lines like what needs to be entered exactly while executing the script as per the viva connections script to avoid error in the UAT and production deployment. Because I see error too often, I see similar kind of errors, not sure what exactly wrong while entering the details. Please help me on this.

  4. even we did not update to latest version in JSON file, it worked, so it is not mandatory update to latest version, correct?

  5. also please give me steps to uninstall the this viva app, too often i dont see uninstall button..

As we are mainly responsible for general question of Microsoft Teams, your question related to development is not in our scope. I will add office-teams-app-dev tag to seek further help. Thanks for your patience and understanding.

@sns1 -

  1. We get app parsing failed error when there is an issue in the manifest.json file

  2. Yes, App validation fails whenever the manifest is not according to the manifest schema.

  3. According to the screenshot, you have given "test" for websiteUrl which does not match with the regex pattern.
    Please make sure it matches with the pattern.

  4. Even though its not mandatory, It is always suggested to use the latest stable version.

  5. Please click on Delete to uninstall the app from Org

According to the documentation, Viva Connections public preview is available now. So steps defined in the article to create an LOB Teams application using PowerShell is not necessary now.

Thanks,
Meghana

Hi Meghana,

Thank you for the response.
What is LOB?

So how to make sure then Viva connections is available now with out PowerShell script execution?
is it specific to any license part to get Viva with out PowerShell? is there any reference MS docs link for this, if yes please share..
in above screenshot is it VIVA with out powershell? is that one also pointing to SHarePoint intranet?

@sns1 -
1.LOB stands for Line Of Business. The Microsoft Teams LOB app store feature will allow an Office 365 tenant administrator to upload apps to a custom app catalog and distribute them within the organization. For example, consider a hospital with an app for managing hospital staff shift changes: a Teams app with these features can be loaded into the hospital's app catalog, allowing hospital staff to access the shift-change application within Teams.

2.Viva connections is available in Teams admin center now. So you can skip executing the script, generating the app package and uploading it to admin center. Attaching a screenshot of the same.

3.Sharing the MS docs of the same for further clarification. Hope this clarifies your doubts.
Set up and launch Viva Connections
Add the Viva Connections app in the Teams Admin Center (Preview)

Thanks,
Meghana
